Microchip Mania

Since the arrival of our Shelter Director Captain Hobgood FOHA has provided free microchips for all reclaimed pets. We added a second program offering free microchips for the pets of all employee's in the Public Safety Cluster. Each Thursday our organization check is deposited. That cost can range from $30 on a slow week to $200 on a good week. We are so happy to see the numbers climb. Microchipping pets means an extra layer of protection for the pet, the ability to possibly go home when identified in the field (no shelter impound) and accountability for owners. Please watch for the upcoming Henry County Board of Commissioners meeting June 17th. A microchip ordinance proposal will be on the agenda. Stay informed and show up if you wish to support this item.
