Roman is a young adult Great Pyrenees who was hit by a car Christmas Eve. His finder kept him in his garage for about 6 days before turning him in at Animal Control. He was unable to walk. Triage care revealed his left rear leg has 3 serious fractures and needs pinning and plating or amputation.
Due to the delay in seeking medical care and lowered chances for successful repair FOHA has chosen the vet recommended option to amputate. We are waiting out a quarantine period for upper respiratory infection and Roman will then have surgery.
