What is this money used for?
100% of your pledge goes to the Humane Society Legislative Fund, which is focused on passing the PETS Act. As you know, lobbying new laws into passage requires money for staffers, phone bills, postage, research, printing costs and more. And of course once we help pass the PETS Act the HSLF continues using any remaining funds to push other important animal-friendly legislation.
My pledge is tax-deductible, right?
Actually it is not, because this money will be used for political lobbying on behalf of animals. That's the law, which hopefully won't dissuade anyone from pledging. If you've read this far, your interest in helping animals certainly exceeds the value of a minor tax deduction.
